AT 08: 1 NIGHT / 2 DAYS MASAAI MARA (ROAD)
0700 hrs - Pick up from Hotel and depart Nairobi descending into the Great Rift Valley floor via Narok town to the famous Masaai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive for lunch and afternoon game drive. Mara is home to the “Big Fiveâ€...elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and other numerous other wildlife including many hundreds of species of birds. Return to your Lodge at sundown for Dinner and Overnight.
This morning, you will be awakened at dawn and after a cup of tea or coffee you’ll set out at sunrise on an early morning game drive. The Mara is magical in the morning: the birds are singing, the morning air smells fresh and cool and the wildlife is just waking up to greet the day. Zebra’s frolic and greet each other, a pair of jackals prance through the grass in search of mice or a rabbit, baboons chatter noisily and curious giraffe watch you as they nibble on their breakfast of acacia leaves. You may even come upon a family feeding together on last night’s kill, or a leopard snoozing in a tree. Return to your Lodge for a sumptuous buffet breakfast. Drive back to Nairobi arriving in the early evening hours. Proceed to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for departure flight or to hotel for overnight. |
