AT 16: 6 NIGHTS/7 DAYS: TREELODGE/SAMBURU/NAKURU/MASAI MARA (ROAD)

• Day 01: The Ark (Mweiga) – Full board

0730hrs, Pick-up from Hotel and depart driving through the lush Kikuyu farmlands to Aberdare Country Club. Arrive for lunch. Afternoon transfer to The Ark, set high on stilts overlooking an illuminated water hole and salt lick where animals come to drink. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

NB: Only overnight bags are carried to The Ark, the rest of the luggage is kept at The Aberdare Country Club.

• Day 02: Samburu Serena Lodge – (Samburu) Fullboard

Breakfast and depart The Ark proceeding via Isiolo town to the semi arid Samburu Game Reserve. With its backdrop of rocky outcrops and prominent mountain ranges to the north, and its doum palms and riverine forest, Samburu has an exotic feel to it. The Ewaso Nyiro sand river runs through the reserve, making it a draw for large numbers of wildlife, including: Lion, cheetah, leopard, and many elephants. The bird life is phenomenal. Arrive for Lunch. Early afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon game drive to search for animals which are unique to this region like the long necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe, besia oryx, grevy’s zebra and the somali ostrich. Return to your lodge at sundown for dinner and overnight.

• Day 03: Samburu Serena Lodge – (Samburu) Fullboard

Morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities to take some outstanding photographs in the morning and afternoon sunlight. As Samburu is one of the smaller parks, chances for spotting all the big game as well as species unique to Samburu such as grevy’s zebra are leopard snoozing in a tree. Return to your Lodge for a sumptuous buffet breakfast. Late morning at leisure. Lunch. Early afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon game drive. Return to your Lodge at sundown for Dinner and overnight.

• Day 07: depart

Early breakfast, depart and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon hours. Transfer to the Airport for departure flight or to hotel in Nairobi.
