0800hrs, Pick-up from Hotel and depart driving through the Masailand via Namanga to Amboseli National Park. Arrive at your Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. The word Amboseli in Masai language means the “place of waterâ€. The park has an endless supply of water from Mount Kilimanjaro and is home to numerous game including vast herds of elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and even leopards. Bird life include pelican, bee-eater, king fisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle and pygmy falcon besides other species. Return to the lodge at sundown for Dinner and Overnight.
This morning, you will be awakened at dawn and after a cup of tea or coffee you will set out on an early morning game drive. This park is famous for its magnificent view of Mt Kilimanjaro and on a clear morning, you get a chance to photograph the early risers and nocturnal animals against the backdrop of the mountain before it is covered by the clouds. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning spent at leisure enjoying the facilities the lodge has to offer. Lunch. Early afternoon spent at leisure. Late afternoon game drive in the Park. Return to your lodge at sundown for Dinner and Overnight.
After breakfast, depart and drive to Nairobi for lunch. Proceed through the lush Kikuyu farmlands to Aberdare Country Club. Arrive for lunch. Afternoon transfer to The Ark, set high on stilts overlooking an illuminated water hole and salt lick where animals come to drink. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, depart and proceed via Isiolo town to the semi arid Samburu Game Reserve. With its backdrop of rocky outcrops and prominent mountain ranges to the north, and its doum palms and riverine forest, Samburu has an exotic feel to it. The Ewaso Nyiro sand river runs through the reserve, making it a draw for large numbers of wildlife, including: Lion, cheetah, leopard, and many elephants. The bird life is phenomenal. Arrive for Lunch. Early afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon game drive to search for animals which are unique to this region like the long necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe, besia oryx, grevy’s zebra and the somali ostrich. Return to your lodge at sundown for dinner and overnight.
Morning and afternoon game drives, with opportunities to take some outstanding photographs in the morning and afternoon sunlight. As Samburu is one of the smaller parks, chances for spotting all the big game as well as species unique to Samburu such as grevy’s zebra are excellent. In between game drives, you can do some excellent bird watching from your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart Samburu descending into the Great Rift Valley floor to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive for lunch and afternoon game drive. Early afternoon hours at leisure. Late afternoon game drive around the shores of this world famous bird sanctuary, home to lesser and greater flamingo, pelican and fish eagle. Besides the birds, the park is also home to the black rhino, rothschild giraffe, lion, leopard, common and defassa waterbucks and even leopard. Return to your lodge by sundown for Dinner and Overnight
After an early breakfast, continue through the Great Rift Valley floor via Narok town to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at Mara Simba Lodge for lunch. Early afternoon spent at leisure. Late afternoon game drive in the reserve – home to the “Big Fiveâ€...elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo, impala, gazelle and numerous other wildlife including many hundreds of species of birds. Return to your Lodge at sundown for Dinner & Overnight.
This morning, you will be awakened at dawn and after a cup of tea or coffee you’ll set out at sunrise on an early morning game drive. The Mara is magical in the morning: the birds are singing, the morning air smells fresh and cool and the wildlife is just waking up to greet the day. Zebra’s frolic and greet each other, a pair of jackals prance through the grass in search of mice or a rabbit, baboons chatter noisily and curious giraffe watch you as they nibble on their breakfast of acacia leaves. You may even come upon a family feeding together on last night’s kill, or a leopard snoozing in a tree. Return to your Lodge for a sumptuous buffet breakfast. Late morning at leisure. Lunch. Early afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon game drive. Return to your Lodge at sundown for Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon hours. |
